The ROTC cadets that get accepted to the Officers Canadate Schools do not go to the basic boot camp. It is a watered-down version of basic training that is only four weeks long. Basic training is the first step in preparing you to be a soldier. It starts with basic combat training or Army boot camp. The Ohio State University ROTC and Buckeye Wellness hosted the 2019 ROTC Wellness Boot Camp on Wednesday, April 24 in Ohio Stadium. This fun fitness event demonstrated support of the military through friendly competition. Advanced Camp is the capstone leader development opportunity for all Cadets between their Military Science (MS) III and MS IV years of ROTC. Cadets reinforce basic skills through squad (9-13 Cadets) level leader development exercises, and transition to platoon (40-50 Cadets) level operations in a company construct. The highest is Command Sergeant Major. Some of the awards a ROTC participant can achieve are: Marksman Air Rifle. Sharpshoot Air Rifle. Small Bore Rifle. Unit Star White.
